Two Wolves

(OT but still... food for thought; have a good weekend. Vlad): One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people. He said, "My son, the battle is between two wolves" inside us all.
One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.
The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith."
The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather: "Which wolf wins?"
The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed."

I have a beast, I suppose. I don't want to accidently feed this beast too well.
I have multiple sclerosis. I'm fine right now, there's nothing I can't do, really. I've had bad times, bad exacerabations, but have come back real strong each time. I think it's my nature.
After years of studying and living with this mysterious disease, the only thing I know with a surety about it is that my future with MS is just as uncertain as yours is without it.
That's it. That's all. That's funny, no?
There's some people though that are real bad off. I would like to help them.
What I would eventually like from the anti-gravity/alternate energy community is SOMETHING BETTER THAN A WHEELCHAIR.
There's tons of indy inventors that read here. I'm asking you to turn your thoughts sometimes to SBTAW. I'm going to say a figure that's going to astound you. There's 60,000,000 disabled people in China ALONE. What a market. The fatigue and weakness in the limbs that can come with MS attacks...gosh every step or arm lift feels like fighting 5 times regular gravity. I imagine something as simple (ha-ha) as a strap-on lightweight exoskeleton for the limbs that can sort of "magnify" intention, nanosensors I guess, like just by moving the shoulder a certain way the device carries the arm into a full lifting motion that would be stopped by a repositioning of the easy shoulder movement...similar thing for the legs. So even though it wouldn't be like anti-gravity as you normally think about it, for someone with leadened limbs it WOULD be LIKE anti-gravity for them. I think about other devices too.
The disabled, the aged and infirmed, always keep in mind the aging Baby Boomers coming up to retirement, (and health problems)...your market could be incredible...and so very beneficial. Don't just think of trying to move more payloads into space, new crafts and bigger and better super-colliders. Think of trying to help someone reach for a glass of water more easily, among other things.
You want a short time in the Sun? Think of a Theory of Everything. You want a little bit longer time in the Sun? BUILD ME SOMETHING.
Creative people read this site. Hope someone can help. |
