Basic Research being done on CF
Posted on Saturday, December 03, 2005 @ 15:35:29 UTC by vlad

Science ElectroDynaCat writes: For those of you that are Cold Fusion devotees, some basic research into hydrogen and palladium might shine some light as to what the mechanism is that makes cold fusion occur. Here, researchers are investigating the intersital character of the palldium crystal structure. They are able to move absorbed hydrogen around underneath the surface.

For those of us who are not as well versed in the mechanisms of cold fusion, perhaps you could oblige to elaborate why "basic research into hydrogen and palladium might shine some light as to what the mechanism is that makes cold fusion occur."

Thanks.

Palladium nuclide that generates deuterons (Score: 1)

Submitted to the main page: I have a model for the nucleus of the atom. Absent that model it is not possible to sort nuclear reactions. The nuclear reactions for the primary fusion cycle in the Sun are mathematically correct but they do not work. The proton-proton fusion cycle in the Sun requires a nuclear catalyst. The reactions proceed on the face of other nuclides. I found the nuclear catalyst for the Sun. Using that knowledge I looked at palladium and discovered only palladium-110 can make deuterons from two protons.

I looked at deuteron proton fusions and found several palladium nuclides can cause those reactions to proceed with one reaction more likely than the others.

I could do a search of the entire table of nuclides looking for nuclides better than palladium. The search would take several weeks. Anyone interested is paying for the results of that search?
