New Model of the Universe

Science (OT but very interesting and well done videos). Neal Adams Science Project - Please Show this Videos to Your Geology or Physics Teacher/Professor For Comment

The case against pangea

First… it’s important to understand that this is the most profound disagreement in all of science in a century and a half… and, even so, it is the tip of the iceberg, the ramifications of this disagreement will change everything we know in science, top to bottom.

It is a interesant idea.

But, if is correct, the planets could "grow" from differents perspectives.

For example, the mass could be in grow, adding misterious new matter to the core.
But it could be possible that the relative size of the lighter and heavier materials had changed in time.
As the planets normally has heavier material in the core, if the lighters elements go smaller, the effects would be similar.
Or if havier elements grows, the same.

The autor uses the complementary argument about dinosaurs. Although is a different argument, and this could be wrong and the tectonic part could be right, if we accept, could be explained with this.

The atoms are growing and getting heavier. The lighter elements too, but less, and because has a little differences, stars has not significat changes, and we has not detected this effects at too much larger distances (where we can see past events in space).
But the effects in planets will be more observable, as the cores will have more dense elements. But because the elements expands too, the radius would be grown too, and the total gravity will grow less than from a only "grow" hypotesis.

The combinations are big.

O.K. sooo

Maybe I didn't read it as close as I should have but what exactly does it mean? So the earth grew. What made it grow? Why is this a huge issue? Can't change whatever happened.

To me it looks like all of a sudden there was a lot more water on the earth than there was before it grew but where did the water come from?

Does it mean my real estate value is going to go up or go down? Will I, or my ancestors be taxed more for having more land? Should I buy a bigger lawn mower and more grass seed? Should I think about an addition on my house? Hmmm The possibilities are endless.

I'm not a geologist although I know what a sex stone is (it's a freakin sic. rock).

Guess I don't get it...
