I don't understand how anyone can believe Tilley has achieved his claim of a self charging electric automobile. With his financial resources it is hard to believe that the electric Delorean wheel bearing stopped the demonstration. If this car actually could do what he claims, he could jump behind the wheel in New York City, drive it to LA and be crowned prince of New Saudi-electric Arabia (a fictional title, but so is his car.)

I am unable to find any confirmation of this, but it seems to be from Doug Littlefield, posted to Sterling's forum.

Carl Tilley Wins Major Court Victory

LEBANON, TN – Carl Tilley, Inventor and President of the Tilley Foundation Inc.,won a major Court victory today against two opponents, Walter Webb and Robert Kibbey.

Defendants Webb and Kibbey were ordered to appear in Court today to answer charges that they were in contempt of the Order issued by Chancellor C.K. Smith of the Wilson County, Tennessee, Chancery Court.

Defendants Webb and Kibbey had been sued by the Tilley Foundation, Inc. for libelous statements they had made to third persons. Webb had sued Mr. Tilley for an alleged oral contract of employment.

In a stunning reversal of his prior position, Defendant Webb dismissed his own lawsuit with prejudice and, under oath, recanted all his prior allegations against Mr. Tilley. Mr. Webb also retracted all of his statements regarding Mr. Tilley’s inventions, including the Tilley Electric Vehicle (TEV) and the “Tilley Device”.

Mr. Webb also recanted all the statements made by him to WSMV 4 News “in their entirety”. (Transcript P. 2)

Electing to go to trial, the Chancellor found Mr. Kibbey in contempt of Court on two (2) separate violations. The Court imposed a jail sentence on Mr. Kibbey and fined him. The Court also ordered Mr. Kibbey to pay Mr. Tilley for attorney’s fees.

“This is a great victory for Carl Tilley and the Tilley Foundation, Inc.” said Doug Littlefield, Director of the Tilley Foundation, Inc. “We look forward to the day when
Mr. Kibbey’s suit will also be thrown out of court for good”.

Mr. Kibbey’s legal woes are only beginning. He has to appear in Court again tomorrow (May 15, 2003) on additional charges seeking both civil and criminal contempt sanctions for violating the Order of the Wilson County Circuit Court.
Mr. Tilley’s attorney will seek more jail time, fines and sanctions against Mr. Kibbey.

PS......take note I don't hide behind fake names folks.....

Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance Securities Division got the TBI (? Tennesse Bureau of Investigations?) to search Tilley's house and shop. A lot of stuff siezed. Carl not arrested. No word yet on what charge they are investigating, but the warrant is to be made public in 5 days. Sterling has been updating his artlcle, so keep checking.
