Dark matter may be an illusion caused by the quantum vacuum
Posted on Monday, August 15, 2011 @ 21:09:05 UTC by vlad

Science (PhysOrg.com) -- One of the biggest unsolved problems in astrophysics is that galaxies and galaxy clusters rotate faster than expected, given the amount of existing baryonic (normal) matter. The fast orbits require a larger central mass than the nearby stars, dust, and other baryonic objects can provide, leading scientists to propose that every galaxy resides in a halo of (as yet undetectable) dark matter made of non-baryonic particles. As one of many scientists who have become somewhat skeptical of dark matter, CERN physicist Dragan Slavkov Hajdukovic has proposed that the illusion of dark matter may be caused by the gravitational polarization of the quantum vacuum.

New theory of gravity might explain dark matter (Score: 1)

A new theory of gravity might explain the curious motions of stars in galaxies. Emergent gravity, as the new theory is called, predicts the exact same deviation of motions that is usually explained by invoking dark matter. Prof. Erik Verlinde, renowned expert in string theory at the University of Amsterdam and the Delta Institute for Theoretical Physics, published a new research paper today in which he expands his groundbreaking views on the nature of gravity.

In 2010, Erik Verlinde surprised the world with a completely new theory of gravity. According to Verlinde, gravity is not a fundamental force of nature, but an emergent phenomenon. In the same way that temperature arises from the movement of microscopic particles, gravity emerges from the changes of fundamental bits of information, stored in the very structure of spacetime...

Dragan Slavkov Hajdukovic theory is compatible with Quantum Ring Theory.

Dragan considers in his theory that there are two gravitons: one positive and the other negative.  And they form a gravitational polarization.

In Quantum Ring Theory the positive graviton is named "attractive gravition", and the negative is named "repulsive graviton".

However, actually there are four gravitons:

1- attractive gravitons g(+)
2- attractive gravitions g(-)
3- repulsive gravitons G(+)
4- repulsive gravitons G(-)

The interaction between repulsive gravitons G is a litle weak than the interaction between attractive gravitons g.  That's why it's attractive the resultant macroscopic actuation of the gravity, measured by Newton.
