The secret lay in the junk magnets
Posted on Tuesday, October 21, 2003 @ 00:30:18 UTC by vlad

Devices From the Sweet-VTA yahoo list: Hello Sig,

When I met Sweet in 1994 at his home in Desert Hot springs Ca, he told me that he had only been successful with the VTA when using a number of magnets obtained from a surplus store in LA. He had never got it to work with commercial magnets.

He told me that when he first discovered the VTA effect he thought he had made a universal discovery and it was only later that he found the effect was specific to a certain set of magnets.

He said he had no idea why some magnets worked and other did not and he was telling interested people about his discovery so that the "smart young guys" could figure out what the cause was.

There appeared to be no hidden trick that made it work, he tried many different things some very way out but none of them seemed to make ordinary commercial magnets work. There is a tendency to assume he had some secret which he kept to himself, it seems to me that he did not, the secret lay in the junk magnets he used and their unknown history. This leads to the conclusion that the real secret lies in some unknown aspect of the solid state physics of hard ferrites.

I know what he means. I was able to build a self-running motor that converted kinetic energy in the air into electricity. I had to use home made electro-magnets held together with 2-month old mayonnaise. It smelled kinda funky but it was the only thing that worked. I tried using rubber cement and even epoxy, but the only thing that would work was old smelly mayo.

Funny how that is. Too bad I can't seem to find my old prototype. It used to work, though, honestly it did. I used it to power my home during an extensive power outage as well as run my RV and keep the lights on my boat running. Gee, maybe I should've wrote down how I built it or something because now that I'm older, I find it harder to remember things.

Oh well. At least I can rest assured that this post contains more useful information than the one I am replying to.

Sheesh

Maybe a little baloney with that mayonaise to! Its hard to believe that someone could make a breakthrough of that magnitude and then leave it up in the attic of his garage. Maybe someone at an obscure yard sale picked up a real bargain. I'd love to see that contraption on "Antiques Road Show"sometime.
