Presidential rivals will give voters clear choice in November
Posted on Sunday, March 07, 2004 @ 18:38:15 UTC by vlad

Legal WASHINGTON - President Bush is busily pouring over Sen. John Kerry’s voting record. In turn, Senator Kerry is memorizing new allegations in his campaign mantra against the Bush administration...

While much of the rhetoric on both sides already is overheated and misleading, there is no doubt that the views of both men on almost every major issue are different.

Here are their views on Environment and Energy (do we have a winner?):

Environment
Mr. Kerry says that the Bush administration has been a disaster for the environment, rolling back many regulations on clean air, clean water, and forest and wilderness protection. Mr. Bush argues that there are too many regulations already and that too many environmental regulations were not well-thought-out and that development is necessary to create more jobs.

Energy
Mr. Bush says the country needs a new energy policy that would make the country more independent from foreign oil and that one way to do that is permit drilling for oil and gas in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. Mr. Kerry says that most of Mr. Bush’s energy policy would do little but reward energy companies and that "ruining" the wildlife refuge would not be justified by the amount of oil and gas extracted. He wants to give incentives for improved energy technology, saying it would create 500,000 new jobs.

I'll second that. The US Federal Energy Dept is not pro-alternate energy, and never will be. This article should be taken off the site.

This does not belong here. With respect to zero-point energy, cold fusion and other revolutionary energy sources, none of the big political parties in the United States get it right. Not the Republicans who are controlled of the oil industry and not the Democrats who believe everything the mainstream scientific community tells them without questioning.

Actually its very relevant to the ZPE effort. All that tripe and baloney spewing from both sides of the debate may constitute a new source of energy.
