OK... Lets talk about ZP Energy specifically. Physicists, Astronamers, and Mathmaticions have learned (by looking at Infrared images of the most distant and earliest galaxies and the warping of the gravitational field) that only 4% of the universe is what we see...the rest is Dark Energy and Dark Matter! Scientists are frenzying over any clues to
the future revolutionary Counter-Newtononion
Theory. Mr Bush recently scrapped the mission to the Hubble that would have installed the IR apperatus that would have seen even farther back in time and in the specific IR bandwidth to detect clues
in a time when scientists around the world are grasping at any crazy idea anyone can come up with. This is where the ZPEnergy nut is goin to be cracked...probably not in someones garage. I'm just a MOTSB.

I debated if to post this or not, but in the end I did it because I think we all make a big mistake thinking we will somehow succeed in the new energy revolution without the politicians buying into the ideas we're promoting here.

I don't think they are impressed by disaster movies such as the latest one from Roland Emmerich (Independance Day) entitled "The Day After Tomorrow" (see dayaftertomorrow - the film is a nightmare story not about what could happen but what will happen if global warming worsens and world leaders look the other way, Emmerich says).

What can the politics do? Here is what Holly Sklar (MinutemanMedia.org, www.raisethefloor.org ) says:

"When astronauts first walked on the moon back in 1969, the original "Star Trek" had just ended, our poverty rate was 12.1 percent, the unemployment rate was 3.5 percent, the federal budget had a surplus, the national debt was an inflation-adjusted $1.8 trillion, the Vietnam War was raging, and the National Environmental Policy Act signaled a greener future.

Three-and-a-half decades later, our poverty rate is still 12.1 percent, but unemployment is nearly 6 percent, not counting workers so discouraged by the longest job-loss period since the Great Depression they've given up looking. The budget deficit zooms toward $500 billion, the national debt is over $7 trillion, casualties mount in Iraq, and catastrophic climate change is a real and present danger. With the state our union is in, we must not squander billions to boldly go where man has already gone before... Perhaps it's time to take another giant leap for humankind with a new Apollo Project, this time here on earth, that will advance our environment, economy, health and security. In a just-released report, "New Energy in America," the Apollo Alliance--a labor, environmental, and business coalition based in Washington--calls for achieving "energy independence in one generation" and creating "millions of good jobs building the sustainable energy system of the next century..."
