Of course not! But without ZPE or Cold Fusion or an alternative form of energy the age of modern civilization will end probably in ten years at the most. Even if the peak does not happen until 2010 by 2015 the economy of China, the USA, and all industrialized nations will fall apart. And I do NOT mean a depression. I mean a total collapse! A brand new energy source of free or very cheap energy could keep things going for many more decades. Eventually would we start running out of space... SURE! Eventually would we start using up so many resources that we would run out... SURE! But ZPE would BUY US TIME to develop OTHER technologies such as ADVANCED PROPULSION TECHNOLOGIES so that we could mine the solar system, colonize other worlds, terraform other worlds, etc. Yes, ZPE is not a total solution. But it would sure help a TREMENDOUS ammount! Just imagine the benefits of no longer having to mine and drill for oil, gas, coal, uranium, and so fourth! Instead of destroying the enviroment we could at least have a way to slow the process down for a period of time. In my opinion, ZPE is the START that will allow us to develop all the OTHER technologies that we need to SAVE OUR PLANET AND CIVILIZATION! Even if we develop ZPE for all we know the nations of the world might screw up, fight in wars (just like we do now), and not make our civilization sustainable. But with ZPE at LEAST WE HAVE A SHOT AT SOMETHING BETTER AND SUSTAINABLE! God made the universe so that all the energy we need is all around us.
