No Comments Allowed for Anonymous, please register The Single Helix Theory of the Magnetic Field (Score: 1) by FDT on Sunday, April 01, 2007 @ 22:06:40 UTC (User Info | Send a Message) Following a discussion with Evan Soule (who appears to be the spokesman for Joseph Newman) in relation to the above letter, It has now become clear that Joseph Newman's theory is effectively 'The Single Helix Theory of the Magnetic Field'. Joseph Newman has correctly realized that two particles moving in circular motion in the same direction, when brought side by side in their equatorial planes, will repel each other. In this respect Newman has correctly cracked the secret of ferromagnetic and electromagnetic repulsion. Magnetic lines of force spread outwards between two like magnetic poles and the gyroscopic alignment of the fundamental gyroscopic particles will cause these lines to meet in their equatorial planes and to repel each other with centrifugal repulsion. However, in order to explain magnetic attraction, we need to have the omni-directional inverse square law Coulomb force. In magnetic attraction, the field lines join directly between two unlike poles. We need to have electric dipoles stacked in a twisted rope ladder fashion in order to create the Coulomb tension along the lines of force. This is why we need the double helix theory. At the end of the day, Maxwell's displacement current can only be justified in terms of linear polarization of a dielectric elastic solid. The fundamental gyroscopic particles need to contain two kinds of charge, and charge must exist in its own right independently of spin. The resolution of this discrepancy between the 'Single Helix Theory' and the 'Double Helix Theory' now becomes of much greater importance than the original question in the letter above regarding whether or not there is translational motion of the gyroscopic particles along the magnetic lines of force. I'm now actually inclined towards believing that there is no translational motion of the gyroscopic particles along the magnetic lines of force.
