Scientists have long been aware
the earth is immersed in an extremely dense sea of energy that permeates every
nook and cranny of the universe. For many years, only visionaries like Nikola
Tesla recognized this huge reservoir could be a source of usable energy. Tesla, the genius who gave birth to alternating current,
said in a talk to electrical engineers in 1891:
"Ere many generations pass, our machinery will be driven by a power
obtainable at any point in the universe. …Throughout space there is energy.” Now, a growing number of scientists and
engineers are beginning to realize it is possible to tap this energy for
practical use.
In 1984, the late Dr. Robert
Forward, then a physicist at Hughes Aircraft Corporation, suggested in Physical Review B, a refereed
journal, that Zero Point Energy (ZPE) could be tapped for the direct generation
of electricity. Two years later the United States Air Force sought proposals
for the utilization of ZPE for power and propulsion. Aviation Week and Space Technology, reported in their March 1, 2004 issue, that at
least two major aerospace firms and the Defense Advanced Research Projects
Agency, are studying ZPE. A NASA news release
dated March 30, 2005,
states: "[ZPE] . . . is a potentially bottomless sea of invisible,
ultra-powerful energy suspected to exist in the vacuum of space.” NASA data suggests that far more than 20
times the solar energy available, at the peak of a sunny day, can be extracted
from the Zero Point Field per unit of surface area on earth – well in excess of
20 kilowatts per square meter, around the clock, seven days per week. Dr. Fabrizio Pinto, formerly a
physicist with the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, and two other teams, have
obtained U.S. Patents related to extracting ZPE. In his Patents, Pinto states, “ZPE
is expected to exhibit infinite density and to be universally present, and
might therefore be a limitless source of energy.”
MPI engineers have determined that conversion of ZPE is likely to prove a
possible explanation of GENIE™ (Generating Electricity by Nondestructive
Interference of Energy), which extracts electricity from what we term Quantum
Dynamos. Laboratory work leads directly to practical, cost-effective,
technology. However, many scientists familiar with ZPE do not believe it can be
extracted in practical systems. Discussions of the possible source of the
energy in systems such as GENIE may continue to be the subject of scientific
debate and discussion for some time to come.
The
basic concept has fascinated scientists for many years. Nobel physicist Werner
Heisenberg is quoted as stating: “We could utilize magnetism as an energy
source”. Hans Coler, a German inventor supported by the German Admiralty during
WWII, reportedly built a working 6 kilowatt, solid-state, magnetic "space
energy receiver”. His laboratory containing this remarkable generator was destroyed by an Allied bomb in 1945. At the
time, there was no comprehension as to the source of the energy. Coler wrote: “These
fundamental researches…have made the first real and large breach in the citadel
of present scientific belief.” A now partially declassified report, published
by British Intelligence after the Second World War, depicts how, under strict
observation, Coler recreated his work. Top-level scientists were called in to
evaluate the device. The report concluded that:
“The result obtained was genuine in so far as could be tested
with the facilities available, but no attempt has yet been made to find a
explanation of the phenomena.
MPI
engineers have very carefully studied the Coler work and may be on the way to
learning how and why it functioned.
Several
laboratories throughout the world have claimed to be developing fuel-free
magnetic generators during the past two decades. Most have proven impractical (and
a few have been fraudulent). MPI has a team of outstanding engineers developing
pre-commercial generators that should lead to the development of:
-
First generation GENIE
generators. Initially, perhaps producing 20 watts or more.
-
Demonstration devices
and toys to illustrate the feasibility of such systems;
-
One kilowatt GENIEs
aimed at the market for portable generators, as well as homes. GENIE generators
can be combined for greater power output, in a manner analogous to solar cells;
-
Larger GENIEs of 50
kW, 100 kW and eventually, 1 megawatt and more.
Skepticism is anticipated and welcome. Anyone with
scientific or engineering background will have a very hard time believing these
systems are real, let alone can become practical.
Six multi-billion dollar firms have signed NonDisclosure
Agreements in order to evaluate this technology and consider producing it under
license. It is only when mass production and independent laboratory validation
has occurred that this revolutionary technology will silence the critics.
As the price of oil goes up and the $3 Trillion cost of the
war in Iraq, brings home the need for radically new alternative sources of
energy, it will light up the sad reality that Zero Point Energy could have been
tapped decades ago - but for the difficulty of finding acceptance for this
abundant, renewable, but difficult to commercially tap, source of energy.
