The Theory of Over-Unity and Flight...
Posted on Saturday, March 08, 2008 @ 22:08:26 GMT by vlad

Science Jacques van Wyk writes: The attached document demonstrates how to apply the laws of motion to create an unlimted build-up of momentum.

Because of the various hoaxes that have been perpetrated over this subject, you may be tempted to view this as just another one of them and not worth reading. Therefore I will meet you half-way and explain the essence of over-unity in two sentences:

Scientists hold that the conservation of momentum proves that over-unity cannot exist by demonstrating how this law holds during a /single elastic collision/. Over-unity, however, is demonstrated by utilising the result of a series of /successive elastic collisions/.

The laws and equations used are no more than those taught in basic high school physics, and anyone claiming to be on this level shouldn't take more than 5 minutes to grasp the principle explained in this document...

    ---------------
    INTRODUCTION

This document defines the theory of how to create over-unity using the laws of motion as defined by Sir Isaac Newton. The specific area of application of the laws we will be using is the conservation of momentum, which is a subject of classical mechanics. An added benefit from defining the theory of over-unity will be the ability to define the true theory of flight, which are two riddles that have been kept from mankind until now. Alright, are you ready? Here comes the great mystery revealed.

The solution is elastic collision, the theory of which is dealt with in the conservation of momentum. We will be specifically interested in change in momentum, or impulse as it is also called. Let's quickly refresh our understanding of impulse and force as it is defined in modern physics. Don't be afraid if you are not a physicist. I'm not a physicist either. We will only be dealing with the laws of motion. It is no more than basic high school physics.

Vlad,  can we "repost" the download for this article.   I would certainly like to read the entire listing.

I think this guy is simply genuinely confused...
His whole airfoil understanding is just incorrect... He needs to look at Bernoulli's Principle a little closer.

Momentum is a vector quantity. You can't just ignore direction and sum up the magnitudes to show a gain. Add the quantities together as vectors and you have 0 gain.
If you want to sum magnitudes without regard to direction, do the calculations with this formula:
    E = (m x v^2) / 2        which is kinetic energy
Momentum isn't equal to energy. We measure energy in Joules not N-s.

It's like the 4 capacitors trick. Take four identical capacitors, charge one of them to 12V, short the other three to discharge them competely. Then connect the capacitors in parallel to distribute the 12V charge between them.
When the voltages equal the charge on each cap is ~6V. Must be overunity, right?  The total charge: 6+6+6+6 is greater than 12+0+0+0   no matter what capacitors you used as long as they had the same capacty.
    Of course, charge = C x V
    but the energy stored in a capacitor = 1/2 x C x V^2
