In a paper to be published tomorrow, reasearchers at the University of Toronto announce a breakthrough in solar power. They've developed a type of film that can be applied to anything, including walls, cars, even clothing. If that wasn't good enough, by capturing infrared light, the solar cells achieve 30% efficiency, more than three times the current efficiency levels.

Of course, any practical device using this technology is still at least five years away, so we should still hold our breath.
