Topic: General

Purpose Our planet is facing a green crisis. Our enormous demand for energy is outpacing supply at an alarming rate. We are exhausting dwindling resources in ways that accelerate carbon emissions, global warming, and harmful climate change. And our addiction to oil is funding both sides of the war on terrorists, weakening democracy and our economy.

Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers believes that entrepreneurs will lead the way in combating this crisis. To accelerate and encourage innovation, we are launching the annual $100,000 "KPCB Prize for Green Innovation." This award will recognize entrepreneurs whose creativity and dedication result in substantial advancements in green technology.

Eligibility Any person, group, organization, or company creating significant, sustainable innovation in green technology. This breakthrough may be in green energy generation, storage, conservation, policy, or any other field.
