From http://www.engineerlive.com/ (European Design Engineer): In January 2007 an Irish technology development company, Steorn,
announced that its free energy technology would be made widely
available to the development community immediately after an independent
scientific validation process that is expected to be complete by the
end of 2007. Steorn instigated the validation process because the
company openly claims that its Orbo technology – which is based upon
the principle of time-variant magneto-mechanical interactions –
violates the law of Conservation of Energy.
Under the terms of a modified general public licence – and for a
nominal fee – Steorn’s intellectual property will be made available
concurrently to all interested parties, from individual enthusiasts to
larger research organisations. Steorn says it decided to do this to
accelerate the deployment and acceptance of its technology for both
humanitarian and commercial products.
Steorn claims that its technology is based on the interaction of
magnetic fields and allows the production of clean, free and constant
energy. Moreover, the technology can be applied to virtually all
devices requiring energy, from mobile telephones to cars.
Sean McCarthy, Steorn’s chief executive, comments: “We have experienced
enormous levels of interest in our free energy technology from the
product development community. Experience tells us that opening up
access to technology to all interested parties via the internet allows
for rapid third-party development. We believe that our technology can
have a profound impact on people's lives and are confident that the
delivery of our intellectual property via this type of online
development and engineering support environment will lead to the rapid
deployment of all kinds of different products.”
Steorn had been intending to demonstrate its Orbo technology at the
Kinetica Museum in London on 5 July 2007, but the demonstration was
postponed until further notice. McCarthy stated: “Technical problems
arose during the installation of the demonstration unit in the display
case. These problems were primarily due to excessive heat from the
lighting in the main display area. Attempts to replace those parts
affected by the heat led to further failures and as a result we have to
postpone the public demonstration until a future date.”
