Astronomers Find Evidence of “Dark Energy”

Astronomers have found evidence that there is a massive amount of dark energy in the universe. According to an article in the New York Times (nytimes.com/), astronomers believe the universe contains, and is, in fact, dominated by a “repulsive, antigravity force.” The concept, also called the cosmological constant, was first suggested by Albert Einstein in 1917.
The astronomers do not speculate whether this dark energy has anything to do with zero point energy; but it is worth a read as proof that scientists may be just beginning to understand the workings of the universe--a universe that is often closer to science fiction, not science fact.
