High-frequency gravitational waves (HFGW) research will likely have "earth shattering" effect on applications like communication, propulsion etc.
Interesting excerpt: Landau and Lifshitz (1975), in The Classical Theory of Fields, on page 349 state: “Since it has definite energy, the gravitational wave is itself the source of some additional gravitational field..."
This might prove useful for power generation.
