Break in Mallove murder case?

I was reading an article from a TV news site that police are trying to link DR. Eugene Mallove's murder to two other murders, possibly committed by a Jarion Childs, now deceased.
I also was reading Bob L. Parks column, and his comments about the Popular Mechanics story on cold fusion.

At the end of his statement he wrote "Mallove couldn't be reached for comment."
Parks posting showed aug 10th date. Does this guy do ANY research, or just open mouth and spit it out?
