That's why I equated gravity with mild negative charge, and not with mild positive charge. As to your other points, I would agree with you that the luminiferous medium is a dielectric comprised of a mix of positive and negative charged particles. Maxwell's displacement current can indeed be understood in the context of linear polarization of such a dielectric sea, but if you study the matter more closely, you will find that this particular understanding is not adequate for the purposes of electromagnetic radiation. We need to have an alternative physical explanation of displacement current based on magnetization. Linear polarization is something which occurs between the plates of a capacitor and which is in the same direction as the electric current. Magnetization on the other hand occurs at the side of an electric current and it is at right angles to the direction of the current, and it is more akin to the angular acceleration of tiny fly-wheels pressing against the electric current. As regards gravity, that is the pure irrotational aether flow that flows through the dielectric luminiferous medium and into atomic and molecular matter, and in doing so it will cause linear polarization and also a density gradient, just as it causes a density gradient in the atmosphere. Gravity will bend light if light itself is a net flow of the same aether between the positive and negative particles that comprise the dielectric luminiferous medium.
