If you look at all the "energy" in the universe, it's only real when it is used to exert some force of something. From the best I can tell, there is no universal entity that is "energy". It's all just forces and their ability to do something. Now, think about gravity. If I pick up a brick, I've expended some energy to pick it up. If I let it drop, the Earth expends some energy to pull it back down. Now, I can do that ad infinitum and every time I do it, the Earth will pull it back down. So, here's a similar question like the "how does ZPE get replenished?", how does gravitational energy get replenished. I do work against gravity, but gravity does work to pull something down. Where is the energy that gravity taps continually without loss. I say that it doesn't really exist, and that energy is just a useful scientific abstraction for a force's ability to do something useful. Now, ZPE may be an entirely different beast all together. Instead, we may need to think of it like a force like gravity, but still different as well. If it exists at a zero energy state, then why can't it be tapped without a differential? We really need to think outside the box with this stuff. | Parent
