So they have to ask themselves. Are they right and the rest of the world wrong? Could it be that their government and institutions with a vested interest in doing nothing would doctor and withhold evidence, surely not he says with his most sarcastic voice. Everyone outside the US knows the world is changing cos vast numbers of us can see and feel the changes. The world will get worse (from our perspective) until such time as it reaches a new stablised level. How bad bad will be I don't know. Do the US citizens know that southern Britain has had a drought for the past 2 years IN WINTER! My worry is the Methane locked up in the Arctic permafrost and ocean floor. I don't think anybody knows how much will be released. It's mostly that the squeeky wheels (doomsters) get all the attention of the media because "the sky is falling" stories makes them the most money AND those same squeeky wheels are making all that noise because: 1) they rely on $ grants to continue their work and 2) it is a belief system, AKA religion, with many (most?) of them, Yes, the Amazon region (and many others) is being decimated. Many of the people doing the decimation are the poorest of the poor. Their philosophy is -"first we must eat - then we can philosphise" the rest is due to greed, i.e. lets get now before there isn't any left. Sad thing is that greed is the bottom line of all humanities problems and we aren't going to change human nature. The only thing we can do is the best we as individuals. Screeming "the sky is falling, the sky is falling" is not part of the solution. deatopmg | Parent
