Simple Math (Score: 1) by chipotle_pickle on Tuesday, November 11, 2003 @ 01:57:36 UTC (User Info | Send a Message) http://freehydrogen.blogspot.com | Here, compound interest is as alien as chemistry, electromagnetism, and mechanics. No, the page has not changed. The 20 year monthly cost estimates still exclude finance charges, and the cost of the inverter. The fuel cell costed out is 1Kw, as if average usage is the need. And in GWEland, fuel cells cost half of what they cost. What I've learned covering this story, and never would have expected is that even if H2 flowed for free from underground wells, home based fuel cell power units would still provide electrical power at a higher cost than today's electrical system. Surprising, to me at least.
What makes no sense is that people will quote Anthony as a source for how the Edison works, yet ignore that Anthony claims to own stock in the Edison. Why can't GWE confirm or deny that Anthony is a shareholder? Why would any company that's not a scam ask their shareholders to act as their corporate communications unit, while their own PR form refuses to answer press questions, and claims that there are no shareholders? |

"Operational cost" (Score: 1) by chipotle_pickle on Tuesday, November 11, 2003 @ 12:16:24 UTC (User Info | Send a Message) http://freehydrogen.blogspot.com | You are imagining that they use "operational cost" in the normal way, and then calling it a coincidence when that number turns out to be something else. They never say that there is a 1.9 cent per kWh materials or fuels cost. Remember this machine is not supposed to have any fuel. They say that it costs a little less than $3000 for a 24 kWh/day capability. Then they divide a little less than $3000 by 200 months to get a little less than $15 per month, or 50 cents per day. Then they divide 50 cents per day by 24 kWh / day to get a little less than 2 cents per kWh. Then they call that an operational cost. |
