You asked first if there is any part of the Edison I think could work as advertised. Clearly, the system does work in a way similar to advertised, at least for a while, or else the investors, especially the more observant ones wouldn't have bought in. The main controversial part is the gCell. They say that the gCell will last for years, and that it outputs H2 and O2 and nothing else. I say it will last a week and outputs H2 and metal oxide, and no O2. Investors and potential licensees should demand to check which is correct. This could be done weighing the gCells, looking for oxide in the water where it is in contact with the gCell, or with sensitive enough equipment, looking for O2 in the output.

You are correct that they haven't brought in tons of money from the NJ investors. And, yes, there is no reason to believe there are lots of investors other places, but only the NJ ones talk. I stated earlier that I thought they had taken in $5-15 million, but now I think that's a bad estimate. Entropy Systems was in "business" from 1994 to 1999. They were very public and got a lot of friendly press coverage. Yet they raised $3.5M. It's unlikely that in just a couple of years, in secret, getting little press coverage, GWE could raise more. There might be no real money, but the organizer just expects to get away with it.

It could also be that the organizer has gotten away with it, and that the people running it now fell for the scam. UFCT was started about the same time that the inventor/founder of Hydrogenerate skipped town because he's a fugitive from an unrelated charge. I've always wondered if UFCT/GWE was just his next gig.
