ZPE-powered LED Lamp

The inveterate "cold fusion Doctor" Andrea Rossi has decided to abandon the "cold fusion" game and try his hand at LED lighting. He claims to have invented the greatest LED lighting device of all time, a luminaire that purportedly runs on "zero-point energy" (ZPE).

Here is his website: ecat.com

"Specifications" for his Magic Lamp (from ecat.com/ecat-skled):

  • Size: Length 15 cm, diameter 10 cm  (6” x 4”)
  • Weight: 200 grams
  • Operational Lifetime: up to 100,000 hours
  • Lamp type: LED
  • Luminous Flux: >10,000 lm
  • Luminous efficacy: 2,500 lm/watt
  • Light color: 5,000 K (cold white)
  • Beam angle: 60 degrees
  • CRI (color rendering index): 90
  • Power supply: 110–240V AC, 50/60 Hz, or 12 V DC
  • Power consumption: 3.9 W (+/- 10%)
  • Recyclable: Yes
  • Protection: IP65 (outdoor use)
  • Warranty: 3 years

The "theory" behind this truly astounding invention is described in Rossi's non-refereed preprint on ResearchGate: www.researchgate.net/publication/330601653_E-Cat_SK_and_long-range_particle_interactions

This arcane preprint has over 67,000 Reads in RG, so you've probably already read it.

With 67,000 Reads and over 750 Recommendations, this preprint provides an excellent example of metrics fraud on RG.

The preprint is supposed to describe a 22-kW space heater, but it turns out that it's really an LED lamp.
