This is what we need: real practical applications that serve a useful purpose, besides proving the point for the reality of COP>1. Read the following post and give them your support.
Michael, Tim, John, et al,
Since you brought up my controller, it may make the PERFECT additon to the "electric bike" (http://www.voloci.com). The controller in a "nut shell" is a battery energy management system. It will take technology like Tim and John's POD device ( http://www.geocities.com/theadamsmotor/pod.html) plugged into the controller, and will control or manage the batteries. As a supplement to the POD (Power On Demand), an external power source can be connected such as a solar panel array. Imagine riding the "electric bike" and wherever you go, one of the batteries is being charged. When you arrive at your destination, park the bike, and the battery continues to charge! No need to look for an outlet. Pretty cool?
The way the controller works is that one battery is being charged while the other battery runs the motor of the "electric bike" for example. It's a double battery system. When one battery runs down, the controller switches in a fresh battery. Then begins charging the discharged battery. Now, a question that comes to mind is why don't you have just a one battery system. The issue here is that I isolate the charging system from the load battery. The charging system is very much like Tesla's impulse generators, where high
amperage current impulses, in this case, charges a battery. So, you want to isolate or separate these high impulses from the load, so you have a nice, clean dc output.
Keep in mind that the controller will accept a variety of POD designs because you have "standard" plug-in base to work with. I think the controller is PERFECT for experimenters because it takes the guess work out of the controlling the batteries. This leaves the experimeter free to focus on their POD design!!! And it will even compute and display the COP of your latest and greatest design! What more could you ask for?
The controller should be available for purchase I hope sometime in June. I'm currently routing the pc board now. Both the controller software and hardware are "rock-solid". The fully functional prototype is shown here: http://www.intalek.com/WarpDrive/Lab/Shockcharger/pic8.jpg

John, Garry, (Bill?), et al,
All I know is published on the website. It appears to be a robust and well engineered product. Re Garry's comment to converting a BMX, this is designed as motor vehicle and I am too lazy to pedal.
The reason I am making this offer is I have been following (lurking) progress on this forum since the early days, and it appears to me (a recently retired accountant, but closet engineer) that this technology is ready for a real world test. I believe an application that affords a significant performance enhancement to an already state of the art product is the best proof of concept.
I am very encouraged by John's suggestions, that is kind of what I envisioned. Maybe spiff it up with Bill's neat little COP controller, and mount it all in a finned aluminium package. It looks to me this bike has the potential to be mass market item and the price can only come down as production ramps up. So, even if the
builder has no interest in the device, there could be a large aftermarket.
I sincerely wish to proceed with this project, so John, please post anything you think will help to get started. Anyone with any ideas, please chime in. I will ship a bike and reimburse out of pocket expenses if someone is interested in pursuing this. Any takers (reply off list if you wish)?
If anyone is still reading this, the following is an editorial message. IMHO, we have spent the last 100 or so years exploiting HOT electricity. For whatever reason, we are now on the threshold of understanding and developing COLD electricty. I hope we all live long enough to see Nobel Prize Winner Tim bashing believers in the TRUE ultimate energy sourge NEGATIVE LUKEWARM electricty ;-) .
Respectfully,
Michael Ritcher
